Data Protection
In this week´s in class session, our class was separated into three smaller groups. It was our task to formulate rules for the e-learning classroom that should protect our students´ personal data and prevent misuse of it when we work with the internet with them. This is very important because especially younger students do not know how to use the internet in a proper way and how to save their data against abuse. Or even that it is necessary to protect their data, not to give too much information about their selves because this can lead to various problems or even dangers.
Here are the results of the groups:
1. Do not tell anybody your passwords.
2. Use different and complex passwords.
3. Use a fake ID where it is possible and do not enter your personal data (address, name,
photos of yourself or others).
4. Be conscious of visible data. Make sure that your profile on social networks is protected and
not visible for everybody, only friends should be able to see your profile.
5. Be careful with any software. Do not download or install data or unknown software from
unknown providers.
6. Do always log out.
7. Do not answer any e-mails you do not know the source of.
8. Be careful with your bank account.
9. Do not use illegal websites.
10. Read AGB´s.
These and other rules, that seem important to the teacher should be developed in cooporation with the pupils because by self-formulating these rules, the pupils will have them in their mind and it is easier for them to accept them as if they would be given to them by their teacher. The same scheme is used, when the teacher formulates and developes class rules of behaviourism with his students.
